Born in a family of Italian-American heritage on 11-03-77 in the city of Los Angeles, Aria Giovanni and her family moved near Orange Country when Aria was studying high school. Growing up as a shy girl, Giovanni remembers having only one high school friend. But with her excellent performance, she finished high school at 16 and went straight to college. While studying, she worked as a waitress and a tutor. Around that time, she decided to follow a dream and pursue a career in modeling.

Giovanni eventually found her place in adult entertainment. By October 1999, Giovanni had appeared on several adult websites like Amateur Pink, Seductive Amateurs, and Busty Amateurs. Giovanni met Suze Rundell, a photographer, through actress Aimee Sweet. Rundell photographed Giovanni in May 2000, and the pictures were featured in Penthouse Magazine in September of that same year.
